Hi, I am an old man with diagnose of Parkinson's disease. I am 65 years old. I heard that this illness can cause me cognitive decline during the years. I want to know is that true and how can I stop or prevent it? Is there some medical or other kind of therapy that may help with this? I want to be normal, while I am alive, because of my grandchildren.

It is important that not all with Parkinson's disease develop cognitive decline. That means that you may not have problems with memory and slow thinking. But, if dementia occurs it may make you problems with your reasoning, language, social judgment and other mental skills. There are two types of medications that might help you, but you must discus it with your doctor.
