Can you hear out my problem? I am 43 years old and I have suffered an ankle injury while playing soccer. This happened two days ago and yesterday I felt that swelling was even bigger and the pain came too. I went to the doctor who said that it is the luxation and that the ankle has to be repositioned and that’s it. Does a luxation require an operation?

No it does not. In luxation, bone sides that are participating in the joint are misplaced and the repositioning treatment puts them back into the right place. After that, all that is needed is a lot of rest and that would be it. Don’t strain the leg and don’t use it much until it’s completely healed.
