My son is 19 years old and three years ago he had three epi attacks. Ever since then he has been using Carbamazepine. The med made him feel ok, but the last time we went to a doctor EEG was abnormal. Does that indicate that a person has epilepsy or is there something else going on? Can you please help me?
Well, there is a possibility that abnormal EEG is a residual effect of past epi episodes. But I assume that the doctors will have to perform some additional tests and examinations in order to determine the true cause of those bad EEG results. Until then, I think there is not much you can do, except support your son any way you can.
