I get lower left side back pain after drinking lots, is it my kidney?
It hurts to stand up straight for about 3 days after drinking. Has any one been to the doctors about it, what did they say? |

I'll get severe back pain on left side of lower back after drinking alcohol and it'll go away only if i take pain killers, if i won't take pain killers it won't away for at least 4 or 5 days .
I got MRI done but of no use , did anyone visited chiropractor?? i was going thru some posting and some one suggesting chiro... do let me know if that worked for anyone. |

Ok; I am one time big time binge drinker turned triathlete.. that gets pretty trashed in the off season... basically confusing the hell out of my system =) I get the lower back pain... more of an itch or soreness (lower right back above the waist line). I get it when I drink heavily for a couple of days which makes me a little nervous. However, get this... I did Ironman Canada; over dosed on salt tablets (took 15 in a 1.5 hour span; don't ask 4 is the max in an hour.. saw km thought it was ml markers on the bike course) and should have gone to the hospital. the next day on the drive back to the states my lower right back was so swollen and sore that I had to sit sideways. I have been thinking that it was kidney issues.. brought it up to my Dr. and he wanted me to go back to biology class....
but still have not yet been able to track down to the sensation and cause nor did my Dr. have an answer for me.
any thoughts. |

| I am a 25 yr old female and I have had the same experience when drinking alcohol. I don't drink often anymore, but it usually happens when I drink beer. Within the first beer I get shooting pains up my middle and lower back. I have asked friends and family about it and nobody else has had this problem. |

I get lower left back pain when drinking. I am a 23 yr old male. And i enjoyed myself a little to much in college. I also was in a really bad car accident about 2 years ago and have had cronic back problems.
On a different blog there was a post stating that carbination or caffine could cause a problem with some system.
My theory is when i drink my liver gets a little swollen putting pressure on my allready sensitive back. |

| Yes! Finally someone else besides me that has that problem. I get lower back pain after drinking steadily for a few days. As a matter of fact I have it now which is how I found this blog. I don't know the reason. I'm thinking intestines more than kidneys if you're still urinating as usual. If you are suffering from kidney problems there would be little to no urine or blood in the urine. I'm betting the problem is gastritis(inflamation of the stomach lining)Look it up on webmd. |

Hello everyone,
im 25, male, normal weight and fit! I had troubles with my lower back and chest pains the first time last summer(2007). That "day", i got so drunk that i couldn´t stand the next day. The pains were as follows: stings in my lower back(left and right), upper left chest and heavy arms(felt like i had not circulation at all). That period i was on holidays in Macedonia, and at the hospital they basically told me i had a muscle collaps. (???)
By the way...since then every time i drunk too much, my pains came back! especially in the lower back zone.
my last incredible experience was last sunday: i had 0.2 L of wine! my pains, only in the lower back are now lasting almost 5 days!
i went to the hospital(spain) again, Nothing!!!
can anybody tell me what i can do....specify please!
this pains are horrible...and i really want to continue to drink beer! |

Take a tums, im not doc, but for me it lets up in under 10 min. Good luck. |
The exact thing happens to me. The pain is almost unbearable but it does let up after 10 or 15 minutes and I don't take anything. |
