I belong to people that sweat a lot, i exercise 1,5 hour on running belt 3 times a week with my friend. It takes 10 minutes and the sweat is just pouring off my whole body, after half hour I change my T-shirt, my friend sweats much less. We eat aproximatelly the same amount of calories. In two month now he lost 10 pounds, I just eight. So I think the amount of sweat is not so important to lose weight. I sweat only when is hot or by exercise, so i dont care, i just leave it on my body Smile

Okay "deitz" and "HonVeer" since you're both such a freaking geniuses, explain to me how the HELL I lost 60 pounds (and might I add, I look damn good). I did improve my eating habits, but that can only take you so far. And also it's not like I improved my eating habits a significant amount. I only did a fair amount, I could have done a little better, but who gives a shit. I lost maybe 5-10 of those 60 pounds right off the bat, but shortly thereafter my body got used to it so I wasn't losing much more. I am extremely active. I exercise hours daily, and I play lacrosse. My metabolism is ridiculously slow and it sucks hairy balls. So whenever I feel too full, I immediately hit the treadmill and start running. I've realized that if I run and I'm not sweating, it was a complete waste of my time and it doesn't result in me feeling better about myself, nor do I burn anything. Saunas and sweatsuits do help. They can't do all the work, but they are good assistance. If you sweat, your fat is actually melting off your body. So whenever I'm actually sweating pretty good amounts, that is when I start noticing that I'm slimming down. Also, my aunt used a sweatsuit to walk/jog as well. At first, when she went for walks or jogs regularly without the sweatsuit it just maybe increased her heart rate, but she wasn't necessarily getting slimmer. As soon as she purchased the sweatsuit and started using it I noticed her losing much more weight and feeling much happier/healthier. Your lack of knowledge amuses me. So take all this false information you have stored in your tiny brains, and shove it up your asses. I'm right, you're wrong. That's all I have to say to you. Mwahaha.

To the rest of you random folks in case you were wondering, I did not take any pills such as ritalin, concerta, or adderall to lose the weight as opposed to some of you overweight lazy fucks out there.
As I said, I did it the fair, old fashioned way; exercise/sweating.
No pain, no game.
No sweating, no becoming sexy.

One last thing, a bit random, but it's something I need to throw out there.
If you're seriously contemplating on doing coke to lose weight, have a nice life. Once you stop doing it, you'll become all pudgy and you'll start looking like a blowfish. Pretty attractive, eh? Negative.
YOU'RE FUUUCKING STUPID. I will be more than happy to help you find a nice cliff, put a blindfold on you, lead you to the very edge of it, and then push you off. Not a single soul will miss you, so that's not something you'll have to worry about. Very Happy I kid, my friends.

THANKS.

Laughing What it all "Boils" down to is an increased heart rate. Saunas can raise your heart rate, walking can increase your heart rate, etc. etc. etc. Depending on your age a moderate increase to 120-130 beats per minute should do the trick and like magic your body taps into its stored fat for energy to sustain the new demands being placed on it.

It's really that simple. Sweat is a biproduct of fat being used for energy. You can't build muscle sitting in a sauna so getting off your behind once in a while is advisable. Wink

Sweating is great for the skin and helps your body to remove toxins. It is very important to drink plenty of fluids while losing weight so that you can keep sweating, as the more you sweat the "cleaner" your body and the toxin holding fat cells will become.

Bottom line, increase your heart rate (preferably through moderate activity to 120-130 bpm)...sweat a lot...drink a lot of fluids=a happier healthier you.

Actually, sweating does help you lose weight. A 30 minute sauna creates approximately the same amount of perspiration as a 10 kilometer run. As your body increases sweat production to cool itself, your heart works harder to boost circulation, thus improving your cardiovascular system. Your immune system is also strengthened because when your body temperature is raised, your systems fight this "artificial fever". Sweating helps detoxify your body, by removing the accumulation of potentially carcinogenic heavy metals as well as alcohol, nicotine, sodium and cholesterol. Profuse perspiration also deeply cleanses the skin, creating beautiful and improved tone, texture, and color. A single sauna session will burn as many calories as you would during rowing for 30 minutes. Weight loss occurs because body fat becomes water-soluble at 43ºC and the body can sweat it out.

Sorry, you are wrong. Sweating in a sauna only releases water weight (stored water in your cells). You might notice a decrease on the scale, but it is only short-lived. To actually burn fat, you must exert yourself by using energy and forcing your body to tap into stored energy (fat cells). That requires work. Life is not that easy. If it were, wouldn't we all just go in a sauna everyday?

If your body is hot, it's going to burn more calories. In a sauna or steam room environment, the temperatures can reach well past 150 F. Youll loose water weight IN ADDITION to the extra weight lost through 1. the raise in pulse 2. the extra calories burned from the heat 3. weight loss will be stimulated when toxins are eliminated through sweating. It's basic science that no one thinks to look at; when the body is full of toxins from a lazy lifestyle, it encourages weight gain. When those toxins are eliminated through sweating and the other means of waste removal [feces and urine], weight loss is suddenly able to occur more easily. It's common sense that running or even frequent trips to a sauna can cause someone to loose more than just water weight.

I have read all of the comments and I was wondering if wearing a sauna suit combined with 30min to an hour of cardio would help burn stored fat?

Actually sweating does help you lose weight also the body toxins, in other words where there is heat there is WORK done, there are many theories that are related, but not directly, you need to sweat in order to lose weight as simple as that, get your simple physics facts straight and then comment whether the sweating "wont help" cheers

I have one friend; she is girl, 23 years old and pretty much fat one. Lately, she decided she wants to loose some weight. Strict diet and jogging with plastic suit became her every day’s commitment. She often told me how she sweats so much and that is sure it is loosing weight. I would like to know if that really means she is loosing weight, or she will dehydrate.

It depends on where you are sweating because sweating either means you are just losing the water from your body. If losing water is also a sign of burning calories and fat, then yes, sweating indicates weight loss, not just because you are sweating, but because your body is telling you I am burning calories. If you go to a sauna, your body will lose water through sweat but then when you drink liquids it will come back. If you are on a machine however, and you continuously use that machine and eat healthy, then yes, you will lose weight and that sweating is a sign that you are burning calories, burning fat, and losing weight. It depends on where you are sweating. the sauna is temporary weight loss. The machines at the gym are a sign of permanent weight loss because you are moving your body to create that sweat. I came on this website with a question that I had the answer to.

How stupid can some of you get? Geez. No sweating doesn't make you lose weight are you f@#$^&* stupid? And to the conceited bitch who said she lost 60 pounds wearing a sweatsuit and not by changing her diet. Is that a f@#$^&* joke? The diet makes all the difference. I honestly can not believe some people actually think a "30 minute suana" = 10 minutes of running hard thats the biggest load of shit I've heard in my life. Honestly people some of you need common sense.
