Dolobid and Ibuprofen

My father had a back injury recently and still has the pain since then. He has been taking ibuprofen, but still complains on the pain and the fact that he cannot function normally. Some friend of his told him that dolobid might help with pain relieving, so I would like to know if Ibuprofen and dolobid might be combined?

I would not recommend such a thing, especially when we know that these two drugs come from the same group, so their combination might increase the level of side effects. Possibility of damaging the stomach is higher, with ulcer occurring. Additionally, this complicates the situation for people that have heart problems.
