Sudden Infant Death Syndrome a.k.a SIDS is a diagnose of a sudden baby’s death with no apparent cause. These sudden baby’s deaths haven’t been explained yet but scientists and doctors state a few high risks being lying the infant face-down, parental smoking and old mattresses that may harbour bacteria.

After conducting campaigns to inform parents about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, the numbers of deaths of babies in bed with their mothers has gone down by 50%. However, the number of deaths on a sofa with a parent has gone up by 400%.

Parents need to be warned about the dangers and hazardous affects of falling asleep with a baby on a sofa. The problem is that doctors can’t give us a scientific explanation why. The reasons still appear to be unclear.
