My poor son is going to be tortured. He is in mental institution. He is suffering from serious clinical depression. They want to do ECT therapy on him. I know what it is. Those are electroshocks! Will it hurt him? Should I let them do that? I am desperate please give an advice.
They are not going to torture him. It is not like he is going to a electric chair. It is form of medical treatment like any other. They will prepare him for it. Before the treament they will give him short acting anesthetics like propofol, etomidate Also he will be given mucle relaxant such as suxamethonium. So be sure that it is not so bad like you may watch it on the movies. If it is the way to cure him then let them help him.
