Hi. I think 10 oz of meat and fish is pretty okay amount for your daily needs, but I would always suggest to eat more fish than meat, and as far as I know, pork meat has the most fat of all kinds of meat so I think if you have a high level of cholesterol you should totally avoid pork. The meat of great quality is lamb, beef etc and you should put the accent on buying these kinds rather than chicken and pork.
But variations are always good so you shouldn’t be sticked to only one or two sorts of meat. During the day you can combine meat, ham and fish, depends on the meal.
However, 10 oz is really not much unless it’s 300g of fat pork! |

Not all fats are forbidden to people with elevated cholesterol. Essential fatty acids (EFA) actually have a heart-protecting effect, so be sure to incorporate cold-water fish like salmon or mackerel .Flaxseeds is another good source of EFAs. It’s far wiser to cut down on three kinds of fats: saturated, hydrogenated, and partially hydrogenated, which tend to increase cholesterol levels. By avoiding foods that contain the bad fats, you can decrease cholesterol and improve cardiovascular health.

Although it is by no means the only major risk factor, elevated serum (blood) cholesterol is clearly associated with a high risk of heart disease. Most doctors suggest cholesterol levels should stay under 200 mg/dl. As levels fall below 200, the risk of heart disease continues to decline. Many doctors consider cholesterol levels of no more than 180 to be optimal. A low cholesterol level, however, is not a guarantee of good heart health, as some people with low levels do suffer heart attacks.
The approach of optimum cardiovascular health is an added focus on the correction of good and bad cholesterol levels. Policosanol has been shown to reduce LDLs (bad cholesterol) and raise HDLs (good cholesterol). Red Yeast Rice, Guggul, Garlic, Pantothenic Acid, and Soy Isoflavones all help to lower total cholesterol and raise HDLs (good cholesterol). CoQ10, Ester C and Vitamin E are a group of powerful antioxidants that prevent dangerous oxidation of cholesterol and also lower LDLs (bad cholesterol).
