Since my liver enzymes have unexpectedly and unexplainably elevated to a level higher than normal, is my liver susceptible for hemochromatosis?

Not necessarily. The increasing of the liver enzymes is classified as one of the possible early symptoms of hemochromatosis. However, many of the early symptoms of HH are very nonspecific. These consist of weakness, malaise, fatigue, lethargy, and weight loss that may never evoke awareness. Since hemochromatosis appears as the overload of iron in liver, only the level of ferritin and transferrin, both iron serums, can precisely indicate this disease.
