Emotional effects of conductive hearing loss?

Hi there. I’ve heard that many people suffer from hearing loss. Cause our society is not very tolerant for this people, can they have some emotional effects because of conductive hearing loss? Is true that that hurts older people much more? Thank you in advance for your answer and time.
