Hi. I suffer from chronic diarrhea. I am scheduled with endoscopy in a week time. What is endoscopy? My brother said they will put a tube into my rectum. Is this true?
Hi. I suffer from chronic diarrhea too. I had to run through some test to make a diagnosis. Diagnosis may be very difficult. It includes blood or stool tests and CDC (to detect parasites). There are also some additional tests, such as x-rays and endoscopy. Unfortunately, yes, endoscopy is when a gastroenterologist inserts a tube in your rectum to see at the intestine from the inside. That was quite an experience. I was advised to drink purified water. I was also told to use proper food handling techniques.
