I am a 28yr old mother of two. I have been having Excessive vaginal discharge for over 9 months now. There is no bad odor, its fairly clear or white, but its so bad that i have to wear pads all of the time. It got to the point that the pads became very irritating to my skin so i went to the doctor. The entire time i thought this would just go away. He tested me for std's, yeast & bacterial infection, but i had none of those. My pap also came back normal. I asked him what i should do and he just told me to switch between pads & junior tampons so the area wouldn't get irritated. I am extremely worried. This just does not seem normal. Is there another test that I should get? This is so uncomfortable and embarrassing. It has really diminished my sex life because i don't feel clean & its not the most exciting topic to talk about with your husband. I can't go a day without this disgusting problem occurring. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |

I am no doctor...However I have had to go through a similar situation except mine does have an odor and it leaves stains. My doctors told me the same thing, and tested for the same things. However did you ask your doctor to test you for Bacterial vaginosis? If not you might try it. They all told me to wash with a mild soap. It does help a little I also find that using femine powder helps to keep dry and fresher longer. I hope this helps you out some. |

| Did you find any answers ?? I have this Excessive vaginal discharge all the time -it is clear & stringy--- Have had it for over 2 years now. I am 42, eat right & exercise & @ my ideal weight --- I have been to the Dr. many times about this. I have been tested for all STD's -- I am clear of any infections - @ first they kept saying it was all normal. Bullcrap -- This isnt normal. I can actually feel it coming out of me. I also have to wear a pad all of the time. I have finally found a Dr that is looking into it, she has also tested me for infection & I am still clear. She also tested my hormones - all are good -- she is now going to check my uterus for fibroids/polyps. Just waiting for her call back -- I am so tired of this, I cant live this way anymore. Thank God my husband tries to understand all of this. He is a wonderful man!-- I will keep you posted. I am glad I found this forum - was begining to feel like was the only one with this problem that they call normal -- |

| I have had the same problem for 4 years. I have seen many gynecologists and they have tested me for everything. I haven't found even a clue yet. I'm still searching online and would like to know if either of you find anything that I could use. Even a new term I haven't heard could help me. |

I happened to stumble over this site and when I read your posting I identified with it 100%. I am 19 and have the same symptoms as you describe. I haven’t been to any doctors yet, I thought that it was normal or something...although I find it very irritating and uncomfortable. Do you have any new information about these problems? Does anyone? Should I also go and see a doctor? |

| I too have had the exact same symptoms - lotion-like discharge constantly for almost a year now. I have been to the doctor numerous times, tested negative for all STDs, have been on antibiotics 4 times, treated for yeast. It's disheartening no to be able to find an answer!! Something is wrong!! |

i to have the same problem, i don't remember having it til i had my first child 12yrs ago, after a while it went but in the last 3 and a half yrs i've had 3 babies one aftr the other and i have since the births, i really think it's normal for women, after all with age alone gravity takes over even without childbirth, the muscles are looser and the discharge has to come out somewhere.. i have done the pelvic excersises after my last birth 10mnths ago and find that i actually wipe more mucus away whilst finished on the toilet than it staining my pants like b4. i could b wrong I'm no doctor but that to me makes more sense than the doctors saying they don't know, aftr all it is a fairly common problem how can they not have an answer??? I'd say try pelvic excersises thay have worked for me |

I have experienced excessive vaginal mucus since having a tubal ligation after the birth of my third child in Oct 06.
It is clear, odour-free and similar to egg-white. It has effected my sex life dramatically as it decreases sensitivity and is embarrassing (although I have a very supportive husband).
I have been to 2 doctors regarding the problem and have recently been put on a low-hormone contraceptive pill in the hope that this will resolve the problem (amongst others I am experiencing since my TL including bloating, acne and 'flooding' periods).
Has anyone else used the pill to combat this problem and has it worked??!! |

I came across this site while asking about a discharge with an IUD. I resently had a n IUD inserted 2 months ago and was told I would most likely have alot of discharge for several months. I never expected this. It is exactly what all of you discribe. White to yellow, sometimes an oder, stringy, like egg whites etc... gross! I however feel it is an allergic reaction. In my case I feel it is my body reacting to this foriegn object.
In the past if used different laundry detergent I would get the same reaction. Also, it seems to happen more often during ovulation.
I would try an allergy test or changing detergents, hopefully it is as simple as that.
We'll see what my test results come back with, I've already been told it's nothing and normal, too!
PS. aside from the discharge, the IUD was the best thing I ever did! |
