Researchers from Vienna decided to investigate the effects of exercise on people who were trying to quit smoking.

They invited 68 smokers to take part in a three-month study and gave them nicotine-replacement therapy. Then they divided them in two groups where one group enrolled in an exercise program.

Researchers reported that nicotine replacement therapy had very good results but that even better results were seen in the group who was exercising. 80% of those who exercised managed to quit versus 50% from the NRT alone group.

Health experts advise that people who want to quit smoking would benefit from nicotine replacement therapy and that an exercise program should be a must.
In my point of view, they failed to investigate the effects of dieting and avoiding sodas, sugar and other fat foods in this study but hopefully they will in one of the next ones.
