I am going ahead with my double bunionectomy 5 days from now. I feel very prepared; at least I think I am. Well I am just looking forward to getting it over with so I can begin to recover. I have a desk job where I can elevate my feet, so I hope I’ll be back to work in short period. I feel confident that my long-term results will be worth the inconvenience. Anyone here has experiences with double bunionectomy?

Yes, I had a double bunionectomy 2 months ago. I must tell you It was not pleasant, but nor was it as bad as I anticipated. I was able to return to a desk job after 12 days. As my toes have been in splints the entire month walking has been a real challenge, so essentially I've spent the month in my apt, in a taxi or in the office. What is your situation at home, because I had someone taking care of me completely, food, ice packs etc. and I was able to ignore all of my other responsibilities for that week. That was really important.

I had double bunion surgery. My right foot has not healed 8 months later. The doctor says there is inflamation in the bone which has slowed the healing. The incision has not closed. I am using a bone cell stimulator. She thinks the bone reacted to the pins that were used for the bunion repair.
