Facial swelling while on birth control pills

With every birth control pill I have been on, including most recently Yaz and Yasmin, I get a large amount of facial swelling along with irritability and difficulty sleeping. Is my facial swelling due to the pill or just one component of each of the pills? I have also been on the birth control patch and it also resulted in facial swelling. My face looks so swollen I have had my mother ask if I am taking steroids! (she is an RN)
