Failed Cervical Fusion

Hi, my friend has severe spinal injury last month. He is still recovering in the hospital after surgery which would improve his condition. His intend to make cervical fusion which would solve problems caused by destruction of spinal discus. Unfortunately this operation failed and his condition stayed unchanged. I would like to know what else can be done.

Hi, idea with cervical fusion was to immobilize cervical vertebras aiming to prevent consequences which would appear after destruction of spinal discus. If this operation failed, like you say, only thing that is left and may be done is implanting of artificial vertebra on the place of damaged one. I wish your friend a luck.
