I'm hoping maybe someone can answer this question for me.

I have a fiancee who gave birth to my child not too long ago. During this pregnancy she had experienced a bartholin cyst. The tests for STD's proved negative at the time. a few months pass and we find she has chlamydia. Now this is out of left field because I had never cheated on her, nor do I believe she could have cheated on me in her situation. Accusations do get thrown around against me from her, her family, whatever. Eventually it passes though and things return to normal.

After the birth, she starts getting these strange abscess bumps everywhere. I mean everywhere. Her pelvic region, under her arm, on her body, didn't matter where. Nothing on her genitals however. The doctor suggests just popping them as they come and eventually they will go away for good. So we follow doctors orders. A couple weeks down the road we find one of her friends (a female) had the same problem with abscess bumps appearing everywhere, yet she was prescribed an antibiotic to clear them up.

Now is where it gets even stranger. Nearly half a year passes, and we find this friend has chlamydia. Now I have no idea how her relationship with her boyfriend is, or how faithful he is or she is, but if hes anything like me he is probably thinking in his head... "How the hell?"

I bring this topic up because now... my child has abscess bumps on her buttocks? This is truly messed up series of events. Especially considering my fiancee was treated for chlamydia successfully before birth.

So to summarize:
Fiancee gets bartholin cyst, STD tests negative
Gets bartholin cyst removed, still negative
Is positive for group B strep (forgot to mention that later on)
Gets told she is positive for chlamydia
receives treatment for chlamydia
Gives birth
Has abscess bumps appear, friend had them appear not too long ago
bumps clear, half a year later friend is diagnosed with chlamydia, at the same time baby has abscess bumps.

Anyone who can clear up this mess is more than welcome to try.

Well i'm not an expert. but chlamydia is EXTREMELY common, so the chances of her friend having it too are not that far out! The bumps, i do not know, coincidence maybe? Now back to the chlamydia, i know i was tested and tested neg and then was tested again and tested positive even though i was with the same partner. Now i know i cannot be sure of his faithfulness as i only have his word but when i asked the nurse at the clinic she said the infection can retreat and then create a false negative but then come back later on?! So she could actually have got it from a past relationship. Don't know how accurate this is as there seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there about how long it can be carried in the body, etc! I know it can clear itself though so is it possible she passed it to you and then you reinfected her after it cleared up? Were you treated for chlamydia too because you should have been? If not get onto the clinic right away and have them treat you because repeated infections are the most harmful to women and they should have treated you regardless of your results! Also, has she been tested for herpes because that is what the bumps could be and it can be passed on to the baby during birth. It lays dormant in the body so they can only test for it during an outbreak otherwise it will produce a neg result, it is usually in one area but can spread all over the body! Explain things to your doctor and have them take a swab from your sons spots to make sure. Good luck!
