What happens BEFORE you have a tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy?
I'm a 14 year old female and am booked to have my tonsils and adenoids removed in one week. It'll be my first operation and I think that I'm more anxious about procedure rather than the actual operation. What happens step by step before the operation? Is there certain foods to avoid after the procedure?
Please, anyone willing to bestow some wisdom, please comment below. |

The best tip I can give you is to read this: *****
It`s pretty good guide to what you can expect from the surgery.
Step by step before operation? ..well, you meet a nurse, get some painkillers to help you relax, then you change into a more sterile outfit, then you get rolled into surgery, you get an IV in your hand//arm, and then you sleep 
That`s what happened to me anyways. The surgery itself is really a no-brainer, and they take good care of you so no need to worry. Just make sure you have someone to pick you up, and take care of you for atleast one week.
