First time having sex is bleeding normal?

Hi,
last night my boyfriend and i attempted to have sex for the first time. We started to do it but we had to stop because it hurt me so bad and he didnt want to hurt me. Later I noticed i was bleeding and today i still am and i am sore. I know that its probably just the hymen ripping but should it bleed for days? I've been fingered and I've used a tampon before and this never happened to me. I also read about irregular hymen that have to be cut by a doctor because they are too thick... could this be me? I cant go see a gyno because i am only 17 and i dont want my parents to find out. Should i wait till the bleeding stops completely before we try to have sex again? Is there anything we can do to make it hurt less? please help thanks!

i kno its normal for bleeding and there is a surgery to get the hymen cut but if you have gotten a tampon in befor i dont think that would be your problem. idk what it could be but my 1st time i was bleeding alot for 2 days and then it finally stopped but i was also very sore. maybe go to plan parenthood or a free clinic? good luck!
