| I heard theres bad side effect if you circumsise. like swelling and infection. is this true? there must be a good reason for foreskin. |

Hey guys,
If it wont retract at all - you maybe suffering from a tight foreskin (phimosis), which sounds as though sex could be painful. You may wish to visit the GP and discuss this, who may recommend circumcision.
If it doesnt retract automatically when hard but you CAN pull it back - then there shouldnt be anything to worry about. I too, fall into this category. I'm 21, sex has never been a problem. So don't worry!
| amandi wrote: | | Likewise, our penises are also different – from one person to another. Not only that size can differ, but the difference can be in shape, shape and the length of the skin, position and size of testicals… And not all foreskins "automatically" retract when we erect. Also, the opposite situation (when foreskin is always retracted, even when penis is not hard) is also very common. So, there's nothing weird or abnormal about remaining covered when you are hard. It is important that it moves or glides or whatever you want to call it. |
Couldn't put it better myself
Also, don't worry about the head being sensitive... it's supposed to be!
Good luck to everyone. |

im 16 and a couple months ago I first brought it to the attention of my doctor that i couldnt retract my foreskin at all. He advised gentle stretching and now when flacid i can almost pull it all the way back. (not yet fully detatched)
For younger people: the foreskin does not fully retract until it is completely detatched, if you can pull it down to a part, and can go no further ie. you see its attatched to your glands, then you just have to give it time.
For me, it was the frenulum (the elastic band that attatches to the glands) that is giving me problems. When flacid i can pull all the way back, but when erect only like 1-2 cm. Its getting better with time although i still wont try sex due to the fact that the frenulum has high chances of ripping ( lots of blood ensuing). The doctor said keep stretching and if it eventually doest work, a circumsision may be necessary.
On a sidenot, tight foreskins can cause irritations of the meatus (opening of the urethra) because of chafing. |

| my foreskin doesnt retract by itself either. Iv been masturbating with this for a while and only the other day i finally pulled the foreskin al the way back (with a bit of pain) now i can do it more but 1. the skin doesnt come back on its own and i have to pull it and 2. i have tried masturbating like that and it is not a pleasurable and can be painful. Any advice? |

Hi, i'm 23 now and only realised I had a tight foreskin about 2 years ago.
When I was erect my foreskin completely covered the glans, I could perhaps see the glans through a very small hole. The first time I had sex, it hurt a lot. It wasn't unbearable, but very uncomfortable. When I pulled out I saw my penis was red and I was so shocked, I had just seen my glans for the first time, but I didn't know it! I just thought the skin had gone down too far and I needed to pull it up quick!
The second time I had sex the same happened, as I did it unprotected and the foreskin came down again. This time I saw my glans and realised I had them, I didn't even know I had a penis head before this experience, how naive was I?!
Anyway I stuck to foreplay mostly as sex hurt. But after researching foreskins I learnt that the foreskin is supposed to fully retract behind the glans and this is natural! And I most probably had phimosis (a tight foreskin).
So i've been gently retracting my foreskin, I started when I was soft in the bath, and I got it over the head after a few attempts, and realised it could be done for me. Now I can do it when i'm erect too, it is still tight, but it is getting looser everytime I do it. I used to masterbate by rubbing my penis against my sheets or by pulling the foreskin up as I masterbated. But now I try and pull it down while I masterbate to loosen it up. I also touch it a lot and try and rub it against things to de-sensitise it. So i'm hopeing next time I try sex it'll be ok, as I can retract it now at last!
I was wondering though, how far is the foreskin supposed to retract? I can get it over the glans of the penis head, but i've tried to pull it further down the shaft and it won't go, I think it may be stuck there. I don't think that would interfere with sex, but is that normal? |
