hi there.
i am 15 years old(16 in 7 months) i have a real big issue with my penis. a white ring seems to have formed at the tip of my foreskin preventing me from puulin the foreskin back when erect and sometimes when not erect. it can hurt that much. it has been like this for 3-4 years now. i told my dad a couple years back and he said it will just go away.that was when i was younger and it was easier to talk to my dad but now i just dont feel comfortable talking to him on that subject, i dont even like talking to him about who my girlfriend is.I am thinking about making an appointment at the doctors without my parents knowing to see if it is major or minor. because if it just a case of rubbing cream on they dont need to know but if i need an operation its different then they would have to know.i am coming to the age where i will soon be losing my virginity and want it to be as pleasurable experiance. also i want this problem fixed by then because i feel that girls will think im different because my penis is like this. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me i really need it thanks in advance

Hi, I too am 18 and only found out a while ago that my foreskin is meant to fully retract during sex. I had sex before with condoms and it did not hurt and i have had girls give me hand jobs years ago and didnt think anything about my foreskin having to retract.

anyway, i was never taught to retract it so i never knew (reading on here that some other people also didnt know is also reassuring). Anyways, i read on the net that because I have left it too late to start retracting it, it can be very painful because my penis is obviously bigger and more stretching is required.

I have been trying to retract it a bit each day but i aint getting further each time - just to the same place before i chicken out. I am not worried about retracting it, i am more just worried that I might tear my foreskin and dont want to be doing myself harm/ having to go to A&E because i have ripped it and it is bleeding - this will be very embarrassing to ask my parents to drive me to hospital to get sorted.

Anyway, I just wondered if anyone on here could tell me from their personal experience how to pull it back without it tearing and also what to do if it does tear, ie how long should it bleed for, how should i take care of it, how long shall i leave it before i re-attempt it?

Also, knowing how long it should take before it should be loose enough that it shouldnt hurt anymore would be good to know too.

cheers all

Hey guys,

I'm 17... I used to masturbate without pulling back my foreskin over my glans..this was probably a mistake. When I tried to pull my foreskin back when erect it wouldnt go past the head.

But recently I have been pulling back my foreskin during the day, when not erect and walked around with a retracted foreskin to get the glans to rub off my underware. this helped to desensythise it a lot. Now when erect I manage to pull back my foreskin behid the head..its still not as comfortable as it should be but its getting better week by week.

Also, my first sex a few months ago, I was able to retract my foreskin fully and it worked fine...just a little discomforting. but if you masturbate with a retracted foreskin every now and then it will lossen and you will eventually manage to have a painless retracted foreskin...

It's working for me so farr.. Very Happy

I'm 17 and i have the same problem everyone else has on this forum - foreskin doesnt come back during erection.

The problem with me tho is that because of this I can't seem to be able to put a condom on. Any ideas why this might be?

There is an operation you can have that does'nt require circumcision where the surgeon cuts a slit into your frenulum( the piece of skin underneath the penis that attatches the foreskin to the penis head) after they undo the stitches it elongates the frenlum thus allowing to pull back when erect.

The operation is only 20-30mins and you have it done as an outpatient. Like other people i am the same, when erect i can't fully pull back.I am to have this op soon.

Like others on here when erect my foreskin does'nt retract fully,it's never been a problem during sex but always on the back of my mind if my foreskin rips, i've heard that can be painful Embarassed

I went to my local GP told him the prob and straight away he made an appointment to see a urologist.
Some people might not need to go this far or it might not even be there frenulum but just thought i'd add my personal experiance to the replies,
but anyone who is worried about going to see there doctor there is no need to worry, they are there to help you. oh and i am in my twenties just incase u are wondering Cool

PostPosted: 09/27/06 - 08:23    Post subject: My penis won't get hard when I'm about to have sex. Vote now! Reply with quote

Yesterday I was with this girl. We were sitting in my room watching a porno and she started to get horny. But when it was time to have sex my penis wouldn't get hard. It took a whole hour for it to get hard, and when it did she didn't want to have sex. I was very upset and dissapointed in myself. This happened twice. I really don't know what's going on and I was wondering if you did. Help Me!!

PostPosted: 10/17/06 - 03:11    Post subject: Tight Foreskin When erect Vote now! Reply with quote

hi. Im 18years of age recently went to the doctor about my foreskin not being able to retract however when I went to the doctor I successfully pulled it back for the first time, an amazing feeling not having to resort to being circumsized. However I can retract when flaccid but havent been able to successfully retract the skin over the head when erect. I think the frenulum might be too short. Or my skin isnt used to this. Also when erect trying to retract looks like a tight band like 2 cms down on the shaft is also repelling the retraction. Any answers or suggestions would be great thnx.

PostPosted: 10/22/06 - 10:55    Post subject: retracting the foreskin: my personal experience Vote now! Reply with quote

Just like many of you out here (again very comforting to know I'm not weird) I've until yesterday been unable to retract my foreskin below the head of the penis.

On and off I've researched this issue, and read this very helpful page of experiencees (thank you). Here's mine:

I've not had many sexual experiences, but in what limited experiences I've had my foreskin has never retracted. I have to admit I've been unable to have vigorous sex because of some discomfort and more due to a mental image of the foreskin tearing while I'm having sex.

Well yesterday, I addressed the issue again and pulled back the foreskin and as usual it retracted only to the point where the opening of the penis is visible and I could see the piece of skin attaching the head to the foreskin - again one more thing this forum helped in establishing that that piece of skin is indeed normal, and I'd thought that that was the problem and no one else had such a piece of skin.

This time however instead of letting go after a while, I moved my fingers nearer to the head and pulled again. The foreskin moved a another good bit - something I've never seen before. Then it sort of struck me that the skin is attached to the penis at the base of the head - like a collar. So there are essentially, mechanically, two separate "parts" of skin.

So now I concentrated my efforts on the upper (nearer the head) part of the skin and kept the tension for what I'd consider a good long while. Now this didn't do anything more in terms of pulling the skin back - it just gave me a view of the top of my penis-head that I'd so far never seen. Much more than before - but still only the top of the head - say about the top 30%.

Then as I inspected the situation, I realized once more that the piece of skin that attached to the head, had sort of stretched and was going lower to the point I could barely make out the "collar" of my head near the under side of the penis (where it comes closer to the head).
This gave me some home, with some effort and some minor discomfort I managed to pull this past the collar but only at this spot. Sort of like working a tight glove down your hand, but much much more gently!

Then I also noticed that instead of "pulling" the foreskin nearer the attach-skin was more like "curling". This was a bit of a minor revelation. I thought maybe instead of direct retraction maybe a curling retraction was needed.

So at this point it took me many attempts over several hours but I knew I was getting closer, I could see more of the head than I'd ever seen. I could see about 70% of the collar! I was quite ecstatic at this. At some point I gave up and then later that yesterday started on it again, and all of a sudden the skin curled a bit more and sort of "fell" over the collar and bunched up against the bottom of the collar!

It still is quite tight below the head of my penis and upon erection the bunched up foreskin does squeeze uncomfortably and there's a slight discomfort - which leads me to fear that it might still tear. So at one point while attempting to see what happens when I get an erection I had discomfort, I was harriedly trying *not* to get an erection (lol).

But I think all in all its a good sign. I'm going to see if i can "train" the foreskin to move easier and easier over the head by leaving it below the collar for periods of time - even if I am not erect. Maybe over the period of a month or so it will become "normal".

Here's a summary of the steps:
1. pull foreskin back as usual
2. move the other hand to the head portion and try to pull back gently
3. if you can see the piece of attached skin stretching with foreskin on the underside - i'd take that as a good sign
4. Try working the underside first to see if you can get to the "collar"
5. once you're at the collar, try "rolling" the foreskin - rather than "pulling" the foreskin - rolling like you would roll socks down your ankle when you're taking them off.

I hope this helps someone because just pulling foreskin back all these years didn't do anything (I'm 37 now).

good luck

Alright so lets see the best way to straighten this out.

First off im 16 and my skin doesnt go all the way back. I will either need to stretch it or get a minor operation to fix that.

Second Sex is not as good with the skin not being able to retract, because the the head of the penis has skin covering it when in the vagina.

What ever you do dont get circumsized... It causes a loss in sensitivity and sex is not as good afterwards.

If your young maybe your not done with puberty. 90% of boys skin is able to retract by the age of 3. But some people have to wait until they hit puberty, or even in their 20s.

The problem is the skin that conects to the head from the skin, prevents the skin from being able to pull all the way back. And or the skin is not stretched or open enough to pull all the way back.

If you are affraid to pull it all the way back try... it will feel too tight as you slowly pull back if you cant. If you arnt hard you should beable to pull it back just dont touch the head, because it might be too sensative.

Sex will not hurt no matter what... but it will be better if you stretch the skin or get the opertation. Sex is hard and long, but much better when fixed.

Some people say sex is ok even though their skin doesnt go all the way back. Thats because the foreskin can move enough that it rubs back and forth and pulls back far enough when the penis is inserted into the vagina.

After reading all of this hopefully you all can understand your problem better. I am going to get the minor surgery, to fix this and if i can manage to keep this bookmarked I'll try to let you guys know how that went.
