Foreskin doesn't go back to cover head of penis

Hi, I recently managed to get my foreskin back over the head of my penis, however now the skin is sore and wont go back over the top. I was just wondering if this was normal or not because the head of my penis is very sensitive now and it is very difficult to even wear underwear for long periods of time without it becoming quite irritating. Also could the fact that the foreskin wont go back be due to swelling that may have been caused to it after it was stretched. I could really use some informtion and advice on this problem if anyone is able to help me. Thank you.
