The only GI complications that can occur from untreated hypothyroid is slow metabolism because this is the main purpose of the thyroid gland and hormones. When there aren’t adequate levels of the hormone, the process of metabolism may be slowed.

Patients usually have problems with losing weight as they gain it with no special reason and may become constipated as hypothyroid slows the actions of the digestive tract. Sometimes it happens that a person gets stuck with non moving contents.

Have you been diagnosed with hypothyroid? All of your negative symptoms should subside once you get your hormonal levels under control.

What kind of problems are you experiencing?
