Hi! I am 20 years old. i have been having stomach issues since September 2006, and about 4 weeks ago had a HIDA scan, which showed my ejection fraction to be 9.5%, which I have been told is normally between 35-75%. No ultrasounds had shown any stones, but the surgeon figured there would be sludge or tiny stones, but there ended up being nothing. My gallbladder was diseased, but htey don't know how it got to be that way, or why it happened when I am so young. After the surgery, I have still not been able to eat regular meals. I have tryed for hte last two weeks, which is how long it has been since the surgery. The surgeon had told me ot go back on a regular diet. Well, I went back to my primary care doctor, because I have been running a fever off and on since the surgery. He put me on a liquid diet for a month. Yuck! He also put me back on glucophage for my diabetes (my sugar was elevated in hte hospital, although I wa not eating or drinking anything, just straight IV). He thinks that I have an infection as well, but not with the incisions, so he ddi some lab work, and the results will be in tomorrow morning, so I should know whether or not I have to go on antibiotics. I keep throwing up after regular meals, which is why he said to be on the liquid diet. So, I guess my questions are, what diet do I need to be on and what will I never be able to eat again. Also, my incisions were longer than what I thought they would be. My belly button was 2 inches. the one midchest was 1 inch. the otehr two were small. I ended up having 15 staples, which I had never heard of in this surgery. It was done laproscopically. And I couldn't walk for a long ite after the surgery, without feeling like I was going to pass out. I am still in a lot of pain, and the muscles in my stomach feel like they are constantly clenched. Wondering what of this is normal, and what isn't.
