Fat is almost always well absorbed and very little fat is found in feces when everything’s running the way it should. However, when gastrointestinal problems occur, problems with indigestion, fat in stool may increase indicating a disorder.
Have you been tested for celiac disease? It is a digestive disorder that starts because the body cannot tolerate a protein called gluten, which is found in wheat. When a person with the disease eats something with gluten, the body starts attacking the small intestines and damages it. The most common symptoms are diarrhea, weight loss, fatigue, etc
If your diarrhea is pale and smells very bad and large in quantity, then it is celiac disease.
Other digestive problems and problems with pancreas could cause increased fecal fat but I guess that your doctors will have more info to work with now when they found fecal fat. |
