Girlfriend's vagina smells bad and has a light brown dischar

Okay, I am writing this for my girlfriend because i think she is scared.

Anyway, we have been dating over a year and sexually active from early on but two weeks ago(days after her period) I noticed her vagina did not smell like it did normally did. Then over the past two weeks it has gotten much worse and also has been discharging a light color of brown as well during sex. I finally had to talk to her and she said she noticed it too but didn't know what to do because she doesn't have insurance.

The smell is so bad we can't even have sex.

Sounds like to me that she may have an STD or more serious problems she needs to go to the health department and at least get it checked out.. A foul oder and discharge is not a good sign.

discharge is normal. and if shes about to start her period she can have traces of blood in her discharge. vaginal blood can be dark and browny colored. especially if your having sex than its completely normal for her to get 'wet' and have a little discharge.
