Hi, as I know there are many different ways to do gum grafts. The are methods used to perform gum grafts predictably, and pain free. By me the biggest problem is fear from dentist. I have some bad experiences, so I prefer to keep up pain for as long as I can in order to avoid seeing them. And healthy gums are essential for healthy teeth. Type of gum tissues called gingiva, that surround the tooth, has a role to protect the tooth from normal trauma from eating, brushing teeth... I suppose that your dentist can explain you the whole procedure and get you prepared and fearless.
