I had only 4" of ileum and 6" of jejunal left. Now due to a a sissel polyp not being able to be removed and history of colon cancer (sister died in 2007), they are going to take out the polyp which is a little over 25 mm (1 inch) in size. I don't want a bag. Does anyone know what the chances are that I won't have to have one? The other part of my intestines that were left were sewn into something to stay alive so they are still there, but I don't want them re-hooked as I had it done to lose weight and it has worked for 30 years. Don't understand why some people are gaining weight after this operation since going to the bathroom more often is what made me lose weight by the by-pass operation. Anyone know anything about this?
