| I HAD STARTED MY BIRTH CONTROL FOR THE FIRST TIME ON MONDAY AND HAD INTERCOURSE ON SATURDAY. SHOULD I USE THE PLAN B PILL OR WILL THE BIRTH CONTROL COVER IT IF I TAKE IT EVERYDAY NORMALLY? |

| It is likely your birth control is not yet effective. Plan B can be effective up to 5 days (120 hrs) after intercourse, but if you are going that route, sooner the better. |

IF you start BC when you are on your period, then it would be effective immediately.
IF not, you should use PLAN B. IF You use plan b, do not stop taking your regular BC pills everyday, it is okay to use them both together. |
