Hi there, im a 19 year old female....i am on the BC patch evra and i have been for about 2 years now...about 2 1/2 months ago i started having lower abdominal pains....and i noticed i had alot of vaginal dishcarge...as well as painfull periods and the blood was really really dark, almost black.....im soo scared to go to the doctor beacuse i dont want him to tell me i need surgery ( as it is my biggest fear) or have cancer....could it be some sort of infection?.....PLEASE HELPP....

You have to see a doctor to realize what this could be. I don't think you would need a surgery or that it is cancer but even if it were they are treatable in early stages.

These could be ovarian cysts or endometriosis and you better found out what it was so you could fix it!

I had ovarian cysts and thats what it sounds like you have. You won't need surgery, unless it's really really bad. I was in so much pain I couldn't even move from my bed. I went in and they did a few tests and told me that I had a cyst on my ovary that popped. That was the reason for the discharge and blood. But even with being in that much pain, I didn't need surgery.

i hope that i wont...im not in ALOT of pain...i can still play sports n stuff...its just uncomfortable....is it rare that you would need surgery....and when i push down on where my ovarys would be, it dosnt hurt or anything...and it dosnt hurt when i pee or go to the bathroom either...and when i have sex it dosnt really bother me either...i realllllllly really fear surgery Sad

but im not in THAT much pain at all....like im still able to play sports and stuff....im goalie at soccer..so im always diving around and stuff...even when i have sex it dosnt really bother me.....but i realllllly dont want surgery...i head that they usualy go away within 1-4 months or something....i hope that it does....but there is still alot of discharge...and dont bleed any other time other then when i have my periods....and they arnt eregular or anything....just really dark dark blood
