Hi there! If your first period started less than a year ago, this may not be much of a big deal. Menstrual patterns are, lets say, forming during the first year and you may notice that some of your periods will be longer, heavier, while others may be shorter, lighter and it is not uncommon to miss one or two.

I believe you should talk to your mother although they can be a bit annoying sometimes, but the thing is that they care too much and may be fussing about things more than we do. We need to understand this but when you are 14, you don’t see things that way.

Anyway, are you experiencing any other problems like may be weight gain, acne, did you have any abdominal pain or pain where the ovaries are when you were getting your periods? Did you notice excessive hair growth on you hands, or face, excessive sweating and strong odor etc?

These are some signs of hormonal imbalance that may impair menstrual cycles as well. If you are experiencing any additional problems you may find important, it would be good if you mentioned them.

You could even now report this to your mother and see a gynecologist or wait for another round and see if you are going to miss third period as well. If this happens, then you should see a gynecologist for sure.
