I have been smoking marijuana for years. Well, it is occasionally, like once in a month or sometimes once in three months. I am not addicted and I never felt need for it. I always have to hear how marijuana affects the body and brain but I don’t think that I have side effects from smoking marijuana.

I have heard that THC from marijuana affects the brain. The nerve cells in the part of the brain where memories are formed are especially affected. When someone smokes marijuana, THC rapidly passes from the lungs into the bloodstream, which carries the chemical to organs throughout the body, and this affects the lungs more then cigarettes.

First of all...I am not some medical expert! I have lived with a man that does this at least 4 to 5 times a day now! It didnt start that way but now it is. He has been using this drug ( and that is what it is) for 15 or 16 years. It started out with him smoking one or two a week to. Trust me, it will affect you maybe not now..........but it will!

marijuana does not cause lung cancer or brain damage. a recent world wide study in 2003 these urban myths set up by the government were proven wrong.

looking at the comment made before me, i would like to state that people who study things off of the internet, and don't actually experience things such as smoking pot are some what ignorant.
Although that information may be true, but over a small amount of time you go back to normal. It is like saying that abortion kills a baby, when in the early stages the "baby" is nothing more than a human cell. it is like saying that it should be against the law to burn yourself or shake your head which kills 9 brain cells. marijuana is the least of anyones worries on the effects that it may have on the human body. especially if you live in the united states. all those Prescriptions, foods that are unnatural (fast food mainly), and legal drugs cause a much greater damage than good, and marijuana does more good than damage.

I completley agree with the 2nd person and people who have not used marajuana have hardly any clue what they are talking about. It is dumb that it is illegal, if you think about it alchohol is a more addictive and destructive drug than weed. HOW MANY PEOPLE DIE FROM ALCHOHOL RELATED ACCIDENTS COMPARED TO MARIJUANA?

Very Happy the things from the greatmoses dude had some great use of information, hopefully its all true, if it doesnt damage you.. why is it illegal? i think they should legalize it and TAX the hell out of it.. Smile Idea I think it can calm nerves, i just recently started smoking heavily, but i can stop or not smoke when i want to.. im NOT addicted to it, and thats the only drug i have ever done. and the only drug i plan on doing, people say once you do Marijuana, your going to smoke and do other hardcore drugs, i havent and i DONT ever plan on it.

Marijuana isn't good for you. It may not be as BAD for you as say shooting heroin + ??? into your body. But it is not good for you. Smoking tabaco would probably less harmful, as generally there are standards and filters that block some of the tar.

However regular use of marijuana will destroy brain cells, cilia lining in your lungs, as well as cause damage to the liver. It is also a vector for various types of viruses such as TB. It is probably less harmful than alcohol - which regularly leads to cirrhosis / steatosis.

Marijuana is a drug that people use as a social crutch, similar to cigarettes, alcoholism and general drug abuse.

I smoked CHRONICALLY 3-15 times a day for 13 years - Now I have crazy problems - I get dizzy and nausea all the time out of nowhere - doctors can't figure out what is going on - I am certain it is from the weed.... It does do some sort of damage to you - I don't smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol and now I can't smoke weed either....

I'm someone who knows many people who have smoked cannabis long-term and I have smoked it myself on and off for about 10 years.... basically its not good for you. Its a ticking time bomb... someone might smoke it for many years without any apparent harm and that bingo they have a panic attack or some other type of mental episode. I had a panic attack one night after smoking cannabis and I have been suffering from anxiety for the last three months. The night I had a panic attack I nearly thought I was going to die.

A persons mental state is only so resistance to harmful chemicals, before it will break. Many young and inexperience cannabis users could come and read this and think... that guy probably had other shit wrong that caused his panic attack... but the fact is the cannabis caused the episode.

Smoking cannabis is just not worth it... find something more harmless to do such as exercise or reading a book... smoking dope is for losers!!!!
