Hammer Toe Surgery

I have tried several things to alleviate the pain, but I think I am getting to the point where surgery may be my only choice.

I went to see a highly recommended foot specialist and she agreed that the toe is not going to get any better without surgery. She told me that I will need to stay off my foot and use crutches for 6 weeks.

Has anyone had this experience? Everyone I talk to said it was only a couple of weeks?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
