I had hammertoe surgery on Nov 20th. I could not have picked a worse week. Three hours after surgery I had to return to the doctor due to bleeding. Due to various problems, I was able to elevate my foot for only 1 day and had to drive on the third day. Amazingly, on my 5 day re-wrap (due to the bleeding), no real harm had been done. I had virtually no pain.
My question is recovery. My doctor said I could return to work in 8 weeks. I am a flight attendant and can wear 1-1/2 inch heels, but have to stand as long as 10 hours. Does that sound possible? From what I've read, it's hard to wear regular shoes for several months.
Please let me know of your experiences.
