Have any women here been through so called pregnancy itch?

Hello, good people. My friend got pregnant. Everything goes fine, but lately she has been complaining me how her skin itches. She tells me that this can be common for pregnancy. I would like to know if there are any women here who have been through this so called pregnancy itch. Thanks.

Hello. Itchy skin is not so uncommon during pregnancy. This especially appears around the belly since it is growing. Many think that hormones may be responsible for this. Some people experience itching on their palms and feet. This can be caused by an increased level of estrogen. Many things that normally itch like dry skin, food allergies or eczema, become even itchier during pregnancy. Your friend should avoid hot showers and baths that dry skin.
