Having a chance of developing glaucoma and wondering how to prevent it?

Hello, I am 47 years old and since I have a chance of developing glaucoma, I have been wondering how to prevent it. Is that even possible? My father has been suffering from it, but the treatment helped. Still, I know how much all that was discomforting and annoying to him and I just would not like to go through the same process.

They say that you already have 6% chance of getting this condition because it runs in your family. Also, they say that use of steroids and high blood pressure may increase the risk of getting this disease. So, you should take care of your blood pressure level and avoid certain medicaments. Basically, that is all. Unfortunately, sometimes it does not matter if you are careful or not...
