Hello, folks. I was diagnosed a bowel cancer. I see doctors are very skeptic, but nevertheless I was given Xeloda. But I must admit that I am having a very bad reaction to this medication. I would like to hear what you think about this. Did anyone have something similar? Thank you in advance.

Hello. Every person has a different reaction to chemotherapy. I had some nausea and vomiting problems when I was on Xeloda. You haven’t mentioned what kind of bad reaction it is. I know a woman who had increased production of tears, although it is rare. Hair loss is also possible. I used to have headaches and dizziness also. You should consult with your doctor about your side effects. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!

I am helping to take care of my 84 year old aunt and she is currently in the hospital because of her reactions to zeloda. She was on her first round and tolerated very well until about the 10th day of her 14 day course. she then had diarrhea and swollen lips that were very very painful. also her bottom area was very irritated from the diarrhea. we are thinking she had an allergic reaction to the drug because after giving only one dose of benadryl the swelling in her lips was going down. she is now 7 days out from her last dose and still is having diarrhea.
