Yale university researchers conducted a study in which they questioned how the stress about losing one’s job reflects the health of the worried.
They found that those people who were constantly worried about losing job, or those who have lost their jobs, retired, or taken a temporary break had higher rates of heart attacks.

It is stress that induces all these negative health problems as people worry about both their economic burden and health consequences.

The researchers analyzed 4 301 people who belonged to 51-61 age group and who were facing a sac, had a sac or retired. It was found that 582 of the whole group went through heart attacks and strokes in about 10 years time period after they involuntarily left their jobs.
