Heart thumping/skipped beats?

My heart is thumping and skipping beats. That makes me lose my breath and be even more scared. I’m 42. I believe that it is not that easy that one healthy person gets sudden heart attack, isn’t it? My blood pressure is quite normal and this is the only symptom that I have from time to time. Should I visit physician because of this?

Well, why don’t you visit your physician and make sure that everything is ok? He may suggest you to have Holter monitoring or ECG. I did the same exams recently and doctor told me that almost everyone has extra beats at some time. Very often they are harmless, and caused by lack of sleep, alcohol, smoking, anxiety or just are idiopathic. You better check it and exclude the possibility of arrhythmia that can be associated to certain heart disease.
