First off, I want to welcome you to the forum. As the new moderator of the forum here; I wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am here and available to help or just listen if I can. I know that sometimes its hard to find an adult to speak to whom you can trust, so I want to be available to you. Often I will encourage you to speak to your parents, of that I will not lie, this is because the job of a parent is large and expanding and doesn't end - ever.
First of all, yes I'm an adult, but I don't want to scare you off from trying to reach out and message me. I assure you that I remember full well what it was like to be a teenager. Also I was a teen mother, my daughter is now 14 years old and my very best friend, but it wasn't always so. I have experience in many of the situations you are facing, and will try to give you insight on what might happen. There is probably nothing you can bring up to me that I either haven't done, tried to do, know someone who did, or thought about doing.
So whether its about sex, pregnancy, drugs, alcohol, STD's, peer pressure, school, or anything else please feel free to contact me. I will do my best to listen and help you find appropriate resources. |
