Help-Brown discharge at 16 yrs old

Im 16 yrs old and have been on the pill for just under 1 year. I have been sexually active with my boyfriend and occasionaly dont use condoms,because im on the pill.
But recently i have had a brown discharge in my panties,its thick and very dark and will last for weeks even when im half way through my pill it will start so i no it can't be the beggining or ending of my period.
Im scared of telling my mum and visiting a doctor as im not really a open or brave person.
I dont think i could be pregnant as i last had sex with my boyfriend in October 07 and have had my periods since then. Im also to scared to go and have a smear test or test for STI's/STD's.

Please someone help me
