Help - Bad abdo pain, pink discharge and sore vagina

Hi all,
what a great site - just found it while trying to find some answers:
I'm 33, have the Mirena IUS (had for 18 months and had no probs), have never had thrush so I don't know if this is it, but have had pink tinted discharge for a couple of weeks, doesn't smell etc, but have felt sore/itchy around the entrance to my vagina for a couple of days, and today have been in bed with raised temperature and horrendous left sided lower abdo pain - it goes up to my shoulder, down to my foot and I feel incredibly sick. I have a high pain threshold usually but can't walk with the pain now. The IUS usually stops ovulation, and I don't really get periods anymore, occasionally a day of very light spotting but no pain etc. Last had sex a week ago, am in an open relationship, and while I am faithful and he says he is, I can't help wondering if he has given me something. Oh yes, have also developed a rash on my face today - not spots, looks more like patchy sunburn. Anyone got any ideas? I was wondering STD, PID or an ovarian cyst as the pain is so bad? It's saturday evening here in UK and can't get to a doctor until tuesday as it's bank holiday on monday too.

Hi, l really think that you should go to the doctor, especially with the symptom of a temp. This is a lovely site with lots of caring people, obviously, but someone could give you some wrong advice. the Doctor is the best person. I had a girlfriend with similar symptoms, except for the temp. Rash on face, bleeding after sex, bleeding imtermitantly during the month when she did not have her period. My friend also was on contreception which was implanted into her upper arm , altho l cant recall the name, it is contrectption that lasts for two years. Side effect of this contrectption is bleeding, she went to docs and was diagnosed with warts on her cervix, which is sexually transmitted, but she sleeps around a lot. IM NOT SAYING YOU HAVE THIS!! But l definately think you should see your doctor

Thanks for that - what an eventful night... it turns out I had a large ovarian cyst. When I went to the hospital a few hours after posting here, they were considering surgery but it eventually ruptured on its own, so I am now back at home and have prophylaxis antibiotics to prevent infection. They have also made me a gynae appointment to be fully checked out next week, although they think it may be thrush - they were quite surpised that at the grand old age of 33 that I've never had it before, so have stuff for that too.
