Hi everyone! I'm new here, and I found this place through an internet search to figure out why I have chronic nausea.

This has been going on for a few months now... I always feel very sick in the mornings, but I never throw up. After lunch, I start feeling a bit better, but I get nauseous again before dinner, then again a few hours after dinner.

My appetite is ok... I can eat a normal amount, but I've gotten a bit more picky about what I will eat. I think that part of it is the "Garcia effect..." I've felt nauseous after eating certain foods and just subconsciously related it (even though it wasn't really related).

What the heck is going on?! I feel so sick sometimes that it is difficult for me to get up and moving around. Luckily, I am a homemaker, so I can put things off sometimes until I am feeling a little better. But it is still so hard on me!

A few facts:
- 24 years old
- Not pregnant!
- Not taking any medications
- No abdominal pain or anything like that.
- I've been tested for hyperthyroidism, and I don't have that
- I'm a vegetarian but I have no vitamin deficiencies.
- I eat around 1200 calories per day, which is really low, but my weight is healthy (maybe even a little chubby). My diet really hasn't changed in the past 5+ years, and my weight hasn't really fluctuated, either.
- I have a really abnormally high amount of iron in my blood. It always shocks doctors, but they haven't told me about any problems it could cause.

Questions:
- Could this be anxiety? I have always had some problems with depression, and lately I have had some life changes which have made me a bit worse. Could the stress be causing this? If so, what can I do? I won't take medication for it (I've taken it in the past... I have my reasons for refusing it in the future)
- Could this be a sleep issue? I have extreme difficulty waking up in the mornings... I actually think I may have Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. My natural body clock wants to sleep from 5AM to 11AM and I'm fine. In college, I was able to schedule later classes to help me get through. But now I am out of college an I just got married. My husband has to wake up at 5 AM every morning, and I've been trying to get my sleep schedule in sync with his for months to no avail. I lie awake all night tossing and turning, and I'm extremely tired when I do wake up (at my natural time to go to sleep!) Could all my lack of sleep be causing nausea? The time that I'm awake in the morning (from 5-11) is when I have the worst nausea, and it's also the time when I naturally sleep.

Help! I don't know what to do about this... it is driving me crazy. Doctors seem to just look at me funny. They run tests and don't get results... it costs me a ton of money for them to just say, "Sorry, don't know." So ridiculous. Does anyone know what is going on!?

Thanks in advance for all your help Smile
