Help!!!! itchy and painful labia majora (out lips of vagina)

The outer lips of my vagina have been burning badly and itchy every so often (though (of course) it hurts to itch)

I have had this for (around) 6 days and can't get to a doctor anytime soon, i do not want to try any over the counter drugs as i am unsure of what it is.

and if i use the wrong kind and then get the kind i used a treatment for i may be immune to it because

now today it seemed to settle down a bit (not as painful) but still itchy, does that mean it is getting worse or better?

it sounds to me like a yeast infection...they have many over the counter meds and if its not a yeast infection it wont harm you if you take the meds anyways...you need to also see the doctor ASAP just in case its an STD
