HELP! I am a 21 year old female and 3 days ago noticed a small red bump just on the inside of my labia... being who I am I of course picked squeezed and even went so far as to put very hot paper towles on the spot because I thought it was an infected hair folicle... the next day as I was walking around my campus I irritated the hell out of the bump and applied vasaline to decrease irratation.. when i looked at it it had grown in size from me squeezing it and was more painful.. not 2 hours later after putting the vasaline on I noticed a few little tiny white strep throat looking blisters on the inside of the upper part of my labia... which became extremely irritated and painful when i walked... the bump that i kept squeezing soon became infected and i developed a fever and my urine became an extremely dark yellow! I have had 3 sexual partners.. 2 of who i was only with once and used protection.. and i now am with a man i have been with faithfully for the past 4 years and i was his first sexual partner! So I dont think that this can be an episode of herpes... i've looked at all of the pictures of herpes and none seem to look like what i am experiencing! I am on the nuva ring birth control and recently just got off my period .. does anyone have any advice on what this might be?!

PS... I need to add that these bumps did not itch or anything.. they only burned when I would urinate and it got on them!! Thanks for any and all advice .. I'm very scared!

Quoted from go ask Alice.
On either side of the vaginal opening is a pair of glands called the Bartholin or vestibular glands. The Bartholin gland produces fluid that lubes the vulva's inner lips. Located on each side of the entrance into the vagina (introitus), this substance can ease penetration. If the opening to either of these glands becomes blocked, a Bartholin cyst is formed that can make a bulge in the lip near the opening of the vagina. The cyst can also swell and become tender. Small, uninfected cysts may not have to be treated, but do need to be monitored by a health care provider.

I have been suffering with this for YEARS. I finally got an answer from a Primary care that finally understood what was going on. She referred me to a gyn for this and I look forward to having mine taken out. I had been associating them with yeast infections all this time. Your glands are probably infected like mine get. Google bartholin gland and you should get lots info to take to your doctor
