| For the past 3 months....i've had my period.. BUT my period in november lasted for 3 weeks.... and went into december.... and the last few daysof december i started yet another period... and i've been on it for about 2 weeks... i slept with an 18 year old .... that i know very well... so im not afraid of that but i know my grandma and dad will be REALLY mad,,, all of my friends tell me that, having my period like that is a sign of miscarriage.... but idont wanna go to the doctor... bcuz im underage and afraid that the doctor might tell my gma... so i need to know what to do... and why my period is doing this....? |

the reason your periods are acting up is when you first start having your periods they will be very irregular, sometimes lasting a few days, sometimes a few weeks! sometimes you will go months between them, sometimes they will be light, sometimes heavy and painful.
a woman doesnt settle into a regular monthly cycle until a few years after she has been having periods. (example: I came on when I was 13 and settled into a regular cycle at 16)
Your period isn't a sign of miscarriage. During your cycle the lining of the womb thickens with blood in preparation for a fertalised egg to implant into the wall and grow into a baby, having your period means that in your cycle you did not get pregnant, and so the lining of the womb breaks down and is shed ready to start the next cycle over again.
Most women take a period as a sign they are not pregnant,
A miscarriage means you were pregnant but then lost the baby, it is usually very severe, flooding bleeding for a short period of time accompanied by severe cramps.
you must understand the difference between the two. Having a period is not a miscarriage. A period means you were never pregnant and your cycle continues itself. A miscarriage means you were pregnant and lost the child. A miscarriage is different from a period.
when you had sex, did you use a condom? if you used protection/contraception you dont need to fear pregnancy.
If you didnt use a condom you may well be at risk, however, did you use a condom? |
