About a week ago an unbearable itch started at the bottom of my scrotum. Since then it has spread to cover my entire sack and the lower part of my penis. It comes at random times during the day and lasts for over an hour sometimes. The itching is literrally the worst I have ever felt in my life.

It started right in the middle of a baseball tournament, so I figured that it was a bad case of jock itch, but I have tried every kind of anti-fungal cream and nothing has worked. The only reaction I get is with undecylenate 25% which causes an intense burning and then sometimes makes the itch go away but not always. I have also tried numerous 1% hydrocortisone anti-itch creams and none have really worked.

From all the itching, my scrotum has become very red and wrinkled, and somewhat swollen. When I pull the skin tight it almost has a glossy look to it. Also, there are small white bumps at the base of each pubic hair, but I don't think these are related. I am not sexually active, so I'm sure this is not an STD. Any help would be appreciated, I want to be able to live again!

I don't know much about your condition, but it could be anything as small as a rash, to anything as nasty as crabs.....Crabs can be obtained much like lice, they're transmitted often times by sexual activity, however they can also be passed by other ways....get this checked out, as you mentioned, you played sports, and there's many opportunities to catch something like that....

My best advice is to see a doctor, and best of luck

itching? spreading? have you had chicken pox before?

any little black spots appearing?

if so you may have shingles which can be treated with drugs and cured if found quickly enough. If not found quick enough it will be cured but in years time may return... again can be treated

I have exactly the same problem as this! I just came on here to find a forum like this where I could ask the same question, and found yours instead. It really is an unbearable itch! I scratch it sometimes until it bleeds, but it still doesn't settle it! My itch tends only to be around the base of the penis though. I really have no idea what it is, but, like you, I am only sexually active with one partner, and we were both virgins before we entered the relationship and still use condoms.
It seems strange that 2 people would have this in the same place. I haven't tried any medication, but I find the only thing i can do if it gets too bad to bear, is to go and have a shower and really wash the area well with soap. That normally results in pain if i have been scratching a lot, but its all i can do, and even that doesn't always work, and having a shower in the middle of, say, a job interview just isn't practical...

Im probably lucky in that the itch only tends to happen first thing in the morning, before i have a shower anyway, but thats not always the case. The itch does start as a very small itch, but as soon as i scratch it, it becomes very irritable. Did the original thread starter find a solution? If not, can anyone shed any new light on this?

Thanks!

p.s. I've had chicken pox before, and i dont have any black spots appearing. Also, my itch has been bothering me for about a year, and hasn't spread anywhere else.

This sounds like eczema. Try using cortisone twice a day. You might need a more potent version to get it under control. The counter stuff is like .05%
You can try sarns, shea butter, cetaphil . This is a condition that comes and goes. Most people have to experiment with creams to find the right one.
The one thing that makes it worse is washing it with soap. Do not use normal soap use dove natural and only wash the area every other day. The water and soap running down will suffice normally.

I get it on the bottom of my scrotum. This feels like a porcupine between your legs.
