Helping your teenager detox from Methadone addiction

I've had my suspicions that my18 year old daughter was taking or on some kind of pill and she finally came to me to admit her problem. She just wants to feel like her "normal" self again. She confides in me and admits to taking the methadone pill now for 10 months. I'll find out the dose soon, but in the mean time, we are scheduling a doctors appointment and starting there to get help and guidance. I would appreciate any advice or things I can use to help her (and her boyfriend, if that's the way to do it) out. Thanks for any replies.

I know this is hard to hear, but you probably need to take her to the hospital or rehab center right away. If she is truly addicted and has stopped taking the medicine then she will get violently ill without tapering the dose. If she is not getting sick and sleeping well then that is also a problem because you know she is still taking it.
