Hello everyone. I have one question. I've been trying to go for walks, but I find it very painful. It's been 4 weeks since my hemilaminectomy. I do feel that the pain during rest does seem to be improving once I started walking so I’m wondering would it be better to stay in bed longer untill things improve?? Should I still be walking as much as I can??? Any opinions, and experiences would be really appreciated.

I also had Hemilaminectomy and I was advised to take several walks daily - but very short distances so that I could stop before getting tired or before it starts hurting me. Generally walking is supposed to be better than sitting! So, I don’t think that you should stop walking – you should only walk shorter distances. Once you feel that you can walk more, just increase distance. Hope this helps.
